The sudden streching of the collateral ligaments in the thumb is a common sports injury.  Casts are oftern used to rest the ligaments until recovery takes place. However, casts can be cumbersome for the patient. The Plastic Wrap Around Tumb Spika is a solution to this problem with a convenient methodilogy that offers a safe way to protect the thumb.

The splint adjusts with the hand and compensates for any changes. It is an effective protection for the MP joint. It is a good choice for the patient suffering with chronic arthritis affecting the thumb and adds a significant amount of protection in high risk sport and work actiivities. It is also ideal for use after the cast is removed for continued protection without the weight and restriction of recasting. 

Fits most individuals without adjustment and can be easily customized. The splint functions like a prefab splint without the disadvantages usually associated with prefad hand splints.

SIZING: Measure the width of the hand at MP Joint from the radial aspect of the index finger to the ulnar aspect of the little finger.  Small  2-1/4" to 2-3/4", Medium 2-3/4" to 3-1/4", Large 3-1/4" to 3-3/4".  Select size and Left or Right thumb from SIZE options.

CMC Leather Thumb Brace gently places the thumb in the position of function. A metal stay provides additional stability. The comfortable leather construction contributes to a high patient acceptance and is a good product for arthritis patients. To select the correct size meaure the width at the M.P. joint, refer to the sizing table below. Select from four sizes for either right or left.

This is a low profile thumb spika that maintains the thumb in extension. It allows the use of fingers and is suitable for both permanent and temporary use. The adjustable elastic fastening guarantees a good fit for every size hand.  A sock liner is included for comfort. To size measure the wrist circumference and refer to the chart below.

This is a durable foam shell with soft terry laminate next to the skin.  It is a patient friendly design with elastic velcro closures. It is used for patients suffering from arthritis and De Quervain's syndrome. It provides gentle support for CMC and MP joints.  For sizing refer to the chart below. Specify left or right hand.  One model is offered that is universal fitting either the right or left hand and one size fits most adults.

The Extended Thumb Splint is ideal when greater leverage is needed for limited motion at the thumb and wrist. Lightweight yet strong, this splint is an excellent choice following cast removal for scaphoid fractures or following joint replacement surgery.  It is ideal for treatment of deQuervains tenosynovitis to help relieve pain and inflammation. Refer to the sizing chart below. Measure the width at the M.P. ( distance from the wrist joint at the hand to the joint of the fingers at the hand ) to determine correct size.
